Tony Kickstart placement

What were you doing before joining the Kickstart Scheme?

Previously I was a delivery driver for Pizza Hut and Dominos. I also worked as a Landscaper and Gardener for a friends business where I developed an interest for construction.

What made you join the Kickstart Scheme and what did you expect?

I always wanted to work in an office environment and I’ve enjoyed this role from the first day, to be totally honest I didn’t know what to expect.

How is your placement going and how long has it been?

I’ve been here since the 5th of July, I’d say my placement has gone very well.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The working environment is great and I also have an amazing team around me.

How are you getting on with your team?

Really good, everyone is fantastic to work with.

What has been your proudest moment so far?

It would have to be topping the office scoreboard, also receiving good feedback from candidates.

What would you say to anyone interested in joining the Kickstart Scheme?

Go for it. There’re lots of opportunities for people to get into work and gain valuable experience. It’s a good start for someone who’s ambitious and career focused.

What goals are you working towards for the future?

My goal is to progress and take the next step to a consultant role within City Calling.

Do you see yourself changing roles in the future?

Yes, I plan  to continue developing the skills needed to move into a higher role when opportunities arise.

At City Calling, we’re proud supporters of the Kickstart Scheme and have so far successfully placed a total over eight candidates within roles of their choice.
